Peter Barker, a visiting painter from Australia would leave the day after I arrived. He was kind enough to let me take his spot in the Southern corner of the student studio. There on the wall was a glorious charcoal drawing of a male figure. Knowing my time would be brief, I was anxious to start working immediately… but what to do? When in doubt, copy.
